A Broadway Junior adaptation of the Tony-winning musical comedy, The Drowsy Chaperone JR. is a loving satire of the Golden Age musical, featuring hysterical numbers and colorful characters. It is the perfect show for young performers with a knack for musical comedy.

About The Drowsy Chaperone, Jr.:
A man shares his favorite record – the 1928 musical The Drowsy Chaperone. As he plays the record, the show comes to life in his apartment. Mix in two lovebirds on the eve of their wedding, a bumbling best man, a desperate theatre producer, a not-so-bright hostess, gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a misguided Don Juan, and a sleepy chaperone, and you have the ingredients for a show that will have everyone laughing.
With plenty of hilarious roles, The Drowsy Chaperone JR. is a fun, delightful show for both performers and their audience.
Auditions will be a fun, interactive group experience, where you’ll read scenes together as a group and learn dances as a team.
- Auditions will begin every half hour between 10am and 1:00pm.
- Spoken and sung auditions start at 10am.
- At 10:30am, the first group will move to the dance audition while the next group begins.
- This rotation continues every 30 minutes until the final 1:00pm group finishes.
Parents should expect auditions to last 45 minutes to 1 hour.
PLEASE NOTE: The directors aren’t looking for “the best” or “the most talented”. The directors are looking for certain mannerisms that fit a role, or a voice that best fits a character. The audition makes this possible.
The dance audition tells our choreographer how simple or complicated he can make the dances. This is not Broadway. We genuinely want to cast all of you (if we can – we have limited stage space, of course)!
We just want to place you in the role that is best for you.

- Schedule your Audition Timeslot at the bottom of this page by clicking the “GOING” button.
WHAT TO BRING
- Completed Audition Form.
- Printed audition materials for the character(s) you wish to audition for.
- Headshot or photo of yourself even if you have been in a GTC production before (our choreographer may not have met you, or may have – six inches ago).
- Comfortable clothes to move in.
- Socks/dance shoes.
