Are you ready to bring holiday cheer to the stage? Generations Theater Company invites performers of all ages to audition for our festive, fun-filled production that celebrates family, community, and the magic of Christmas in West Texas!
Christmas in West Texas was usually pretty drab for ranch hands Smitty, Eddie, and Bubba – that is, until they find themselves scrambling to save their boss Sara’s ranch from being sold. Meanwhile, Sara must stay strong for her 9-year-old, Jordan, insisting that this be the best Christmas ever. Add a Christmas pageant into the mix, and it is a recipe for comedic misadventures – including a misplaced Santa and a runaway duck. This heartwarming holiday tale celebrates family and hope, sure to get you into the true spirit of Christmas!
Cast of Characters
- Smitty: The Foreman of the ranch, Smitty is a tall, rather rough-looking cowhand, usually soft-spoken and level-headed.
- Bubba: A round, jolly cowboy who dreams of far away places and having a good time.
- Eddie: The third member of the trio of ranch hands, Eddie is not very bright, but has a heart as big as the West Texas plains he rides along.
- Jordan Prientess: A precocious nine-year-old, facing life’s challenges with wisdom beyond their years.
- Sara Prientess: Widowed West Texas rancher in her 30s and mother to 9-year-old Jordan, she is a woman of untold worries, with the patience
and understanding to deal with it all. - Opal Robinson: Jordan’s teacher, who takes pride in helping her students shine whenever she can.
- Jason Benedict: A character with his eye on Sara’s ranch and its hands, adding an intriguing twist to our story.
